Kealanani
is a truly unique creation: an incredibly beautiful and vast community
development with an emphasis on alternative agriculture. It is an agrarian
community of homeowners who appreciate and enjoy the natural elegance
of the contemporary Hawaiian lifestyle while engaging in activities that
make use of the rich and fertile tropical soil and pay homage to native
Hawaiian culture, wisdom and stewardship of the land.
Located on 2,021 acres rising above the northeastern shoreline of Kauai,
Kealanani is primarily pastureland contoured with gently rolling hills
and cool, sequestered shallow valleys.
The land is filled with tall, stately trees: hundred-year-old monkey
pods, camphor, albizzia, ironwood, eucalyptus and African tulip. In the
valleys are royal palms, ferns, ti plants, ginger and noni.
In the higher elevations of Kealanani, the ocean and mountain vistas
are spectacular, while maintaining residents' privacy and seclusion.
Kealanani comprises 190 home sites, ranging in size from 3 to 100 acres,
rising from sea level to 425 feet. Nowhere in North America can a property
offer such ideal living and growing conditions.
Kealanani contains land that is required to be used agriculturally, along
with sanctuaries that need to be set aside in perpetuity. Its ultimate
identity will be partially determined by what the owners decide to grow
on their parcels. It will become an attractive combination of nature preserve,
farmland and ranchland.
