Kealanani is designed to provide its residents not only with
agricultural opportunities, but also with myriad means to enjoy
the great outdoors. Its nine valleys provide a rich and varied environment
accessible to all residents for strolling, hiking and horseback
riding.
An approximate ten-mile looped trail system on the property welcomes
Kealanani residents. It will connect to a 2.5-mile pedestrian/equestrian
path along the beach leading into the nearby town of Kapaa, which
will eventually become a 17-mile oceanfront bike and hiking trail
running from Lihue Airport to the town of Anahola.
One border of the property is the Kealia River, officially named
Kapaa Stream, which will be open to kayakers and meets the open
ocean at Kealia Beach, directly across the road from Kealanani,
a popular spot for sunbathing, surfing and body boarding.
At the entrance to Kealanani will be Hawaii's only state-sanctioned
rodeo rink, an attraction popular with both adults and children
for many years. An option for property owners will be to board,
breed and rent horses.
